Admission Requirements

To apply for a Master’s degree program (2 years, 120 ECTS) at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics (PMF), University of Niš, Serbia, international (foreign) citizens must meet the following requirements:

  1. Completed undergraduate (Bachelor’s) studies worth at least 180 ECTS credits, with a recognized (nostrified) diploma in accordance with Serbian regulations.
  2. Proof of proficiency in the Serbian language, issued by the Center for Serbian as a Foreign Language (https://learn-serbian.filfak.ni.ac.rs/) or another accredited institution.
  3. Valid health insurance covering the entire period of study in the Republic of Serbia.

A candidate who has not completed the relevant undergraduate academic studies but has completed related studies is required to take an entrance exam.

Entrance exam is organized in the Serbian language during on-line session.

For admission to the MSc Biology (modul: Molecular Biology and Physiology):

  • Relevant study programs are in the field of biological sciences.
  • Related study programs for enrollment in biological sciences include: chemical sciences (with the professional title Biochemist), biotechnical sciences, environmental protection sciences, medical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, veterinary sciences, and agricultural sciences.

For admission to the MSc Computer Science and MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

  • Relevant programs include the following professional titles: Computer Scientist, Software Engineer, Information Technology and Systems Engineer, Information Systems Engineer.
  • Related programs include the following professional titles: Mathematician, Astronomer, Physicist, Meteorologist, Electrical and Computer Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Organizational Sciences Engineer, Business IT Specialist, IMT studies with degrees: Mechatronics Engineer, IT Engineer, Applied Mathematics Engineer, Applied Physics Engineer, Graphic Engineering and Design Engineer, Librarian-IT Specialist.

Application Period

Applications are submitted from November 3 to November 7, 2025, between 11:00 and 13:00, in office no. 16. During the specified period, applications may also be submitted at e-mail: tatjana.andjelkovic@pmf.edu.rs.  

Foreign candidates must submit the following documents:

  1. Application form.
  2. Bachelor’s diploma and transcript of records must be translated into Serbian (by a certified court translator).
    • The foreign diploma must be recognized (validated) by the University of Niš. This process is handled by the Centre for the Recognition of Foreign Higher Education Qualifications at the niversity
    • If the validation procedure is not finalized, the official proof that the procedure is started is needed.
  3. Passport photocopy (page with photo and personal data).
  4. Certificate of Serbian language proficiency (possible to get from https://learn-serbian.filfak.ni.ac.rs/ or some similar Center).

Entrance Exam and Ranking

The list of registered candidates and those required to take the entrance exam will be published on November 7, 2025.
The entrance exam/interview will be held online on November 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM
The ranking list will be published no later than November 10, 2025.
Review of entrance exam results: November 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM.


Enrollment

Final ranking list: by 3:00 PM, November 13, 2025.

Enrollment of candidates who earned the right to enroll will take place on November 14–15, 2025, from 10:00 to 13:00.
Enrollment of candidates below the line will take place on November 15, 2025, from 13:00 to 14:00.

A candidate who fails to enroll within the designated period shall be considered to have forfeited their right to enrollment.


Documents Required for Enrollment

  • Certified copies of documents (diploma, supplement, or certificate of graduation);

  • Student booklet (Index) – issued at the Faculty, to be filled out in Cyrillic script;
  • Two photographs (4.4 × 3.5 cm);
  • Proof of payment of the Health insurance for academic year 2025/26
  • Proof of payment of the application fee for the Master’s studies in the amount of 3.000 RSD
  • Proof of payment of the entrance exam/interview fee in the amount of 6.000 RSD (interview and exam is for candidates who completed a related undergraduate academic program, while interview is for candidates who completed a relevant undergraduate academic program).
  • Proof of payment of the enrollment fee for the Master’s studies in the amount of 2.000 RSD
  • Proof of payment of the tuition fee in the amount of 3.000 € (first installment 1.500 € at the enrollment and the rest payment in up to 2 installments till February 2025.)

Second Admission Period

Applications: November 24 – December 5, 2025, 10:00–13:00.
Entrance exam: December 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
Ranking list: published no later than December 6, 2025.
Results review: December 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
Final ranking list: December 10, 2025.
Enrollment: December 11–12, 2025, from 10:00 to 13:00.
Candidates below the line: December 12, 2025, from 13:00 to 14:00.

Tuition fees remain the same as in the first admission period.
