Zorica Mitić (née Šarac) graduated from the Faculty of Sciences and Mathematics, University of Niš in 2007, and earned her PhD from the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade in 2014. She is currently employed as an Associate Professor at the Department of Biology and Ecology, Faculty of Sciences and Mathematics, University of Niš. Zorica’s research interests include plant chemotaxonomy/chemophenetics, chemoecology, phytochemistry, plant morphology, systematics and applied botany, with a focus on biological activity of specialized plant metabolites. She has also acted as a Guest Editor for several Special Issues of Forests, an open-access, peer-reviewed scientific journal, including "Tree Traits and Chemistry," "Specialized Metabolites and Structure of Woody Plants," and "Essential Oil Composition of Forest Trees." Additionally, she has successfully participated in 11 national and one international scientific research projects.
