Antonije Onjia is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy of University of Belgrade (TMF). He holds a bachelor, master and doctoral degree in chemistry from TMF. He has worked at the Department of Analytical Chemistry and Quality Control at TMF since 1992 to 1995 and from 2017 till today. In the period from 1996 until 2016 he worked at the Vinca Institute of Nuclear Sciences, where in 2007 he was elected to the title of Principal Research Fellow.

In the period from 2002 to 2005 at the Institute he was Director of the ISO 17025 accredited laboratory for chemical and radiological environmental testing. He was granted the Belgian Government postdoctoral fellowship and spent one year (2001/2002) at the Department of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Ghent. During his many years of scientific research, Antonije Onjia has directed as a leading scientist several research projects. His research area is instrumental analytical chemistry, environmental analytical chemistry, chemistry of separation processes and chemometrics. According to Scopus Database (ID: 35576051700), Antonije Onjia has published 114 scientific papers. These papers have been cited 1766 times in the scientific literature and the h-index is 23.
