Milan Đorđević is an Assistant Professor of Cartography and GIS at the Department of Geography, Faculty of Sciences and Mathematics, University of Niš. He has wide interests in the field of Cartography, Thematic Mapping and Geographic information science. His current research is in radioecology and sustainable development. The emphasis of interest is cartographic generalization, which is the basis for the creation of high-quality maps and geospatial research methods, meant for the comprehensive understanding of the causes and consequences of environment degradation.

He has a Doctors (PhD) degree in Cartography and GIS of Department of Geography, Tourism and Hotel Management, Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad (2016). He holds master degrees in Geography with Methodology of Teaching Geography (Department of Geography, Faculty of Sciences and Mathematics, University of Niš) and in Geographic Cartography (Geographical Faculty, Belgrade University).

He was a visitor researcher at GIS centre, Lund University, SwedenGIS Center, Lund University, Sweden and Geo-Information Processing (GIP) Department of International Institute for Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation ITC, Enschede, The Netherlands (www.itc.nl).
