Merseburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany): Travel and Accommodation Grants for Study Visits from Abroad

As part of the EURABridge DAAD HAW Project, subproject Balkan Network 2.0, run by Merseburg University of Applied Sciences, in total five travel and accommodation grants will be awarded to students from Universities in South East Europe for the summer 2024 and winter term 2024/2025. These grants may be used to complete project, Bachelor's and Master's theses in the Faculty of Engineering and the Natural Sciences (applies to students) or for the exchange of research ideas and joint scientific work and publishing (applies to doctoral students / research assistants) at Merseburg University of Applied Sciences. The stays for (doctoral) students may be subsidised for a period of 3 months, respectively, and for 10 days for academic members of staff.

Application Deadline: 30th April, 2024.

Travel and accommodation costs for student (3 months) and for research assistants (10 days) in the winter term 2024/2025 may be subsidised.

NB: winter term begins on October 1st, 2024.

  • The following documents must be submitted together with an application (in German or English):
  • A letter of motivation with information on the country of origin and university as well as the travel semester;
  • A short biography with details of the participant’s degree programme and semester or degree qualification;
  • Max. 1-page outline of the project proposal or an explanation of the planned Bachelor's or Master's thesis;
  • Proof of English language skills at level B2 or German language skills at level B1;
  • Certificate of enrolment, proof of doctoral work/activities or proof of employment relationship.

In case of insufficient applications from listed Universities this call is also expanded to the following Universities in South East Europe: University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), University of Skopje (North Macedonia), University of Podgorica (Montenegro), Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek (Croatia), University of Sarajevo or University SSST Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

The applicants, entitled to a subsidised stay and support, will be selected by two staff members from the International Office and the International Officer at the Department of Engineering and the Natural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Goran Kaluđerović.
